So far, this does not look good for reloaders. You'd have to pay for a license and be permitted to possess powder. Is it a huge lift? No. But that isn't the issue. It's just another piece of legislation that will do noting but hurt law abiding citizens.

The Ammo Shortage and Precious Metals Investment
I mused, a few years ago, that we would someday be trading .22LR for food. Having a conversation with a lefty pacifist friend, I took a couple friendly jabs. Today, several years later, he reminded me of that conversation. It started with talking about buying silver coins and ended up with my standard advice of buying some ammo as part of your investment diversification.
Of course, lefty buddy laughed at this. I explained how ammunition has gone up in value and continues to become more expensive. More laughs. I suggested that it might become scarce enough someday to make it a highly valuable trading item. "Trading! Hah!" I went waaaayyy into tin foil territory and suggested that ammunition might become one of the most valuable commodities in the world. It was at this point that my friend pulled the paranoid conservative card. I finished by having him commit to memory the following common calibers: .22LR, 9mm, .40, .45. .223, and .308. He humored me and stated them back.
This became a running joke. My friend would recite the common calibers I recommended he invest some money in. We would pass in the halls at work and he would rattle them off and throw a jab about tin foil or some other such nonsense. I even wrote about this, on another site that has since gone the way of the internet black hole.
Today, he still remembers them. Only instead of a tin foil jab, I got an "I think you might have been right." Dude tries to stay pretty informed and heard of the current ammo shortage. Being the curious little cat that he is, he took a look at the ammo shelf at the local Wally World. Even the store clerk confirmed this for him. No .22lr. No 9mm. No .223. What happens when demand is greater than supply? Yep. Increase in price.
Whether or not this ammo shortage is going to last 6 months or 6 years; it does highlight the value of the stuff. I remember buying bricks of 22lr. for ten dollars and even less. They go for $20+ now,if you can find it. Add in any scenario that you may have seen on doomsday preppers, or even a realistic scenario, and the stuff becomes priceless. You don't have to wear a tin foil hat to see the sense in it. You don't have to have a fall out bunker to understand how the laws of supply and demand work.

Despite a minor victory for the 2A, the battle is far from over. If congress cannot accomplish what the gun grabbers want, perhaps the real masters of government can. If the major banks want it done, it will be done. After all, .gov has nothing to fear from the people; the financiers, however, can make or break, buy and own, any politician in the world. They will do their will.
So what will happen if the money powers in the world decide that gun control is the way of the future? They will get it. I say "in the world" on purpose, as foreign money has more influence on our .gov than the voters do. They will get it the same way they do everything else; throw money at it, or starve it of funding.
The "beauty" of this being done by financial institutions is that people will hardly bat an eye at it. Why? Because they control you too. Everybody complains about government, but depends on the banks. Government is working this angle too. Create dependency. Create a nation of people who depend on government for welfare programs and food stamps. No one will talk back when they are hungry. Is this tin foil stuff? Food Stamp Recruiters Why do we need to actively recruit people for food stamp programs? Create dependency, get what you want.
Gun control is such a hot topic these days that the default position is to appear to be neutral at a minimum. Being pro 2A or espousing adherence to the Constitution is more likely to get you put on a terrorist watch list than present you as a supporter of the country. The paradigm has shifted. Patriots who support the United States, the Constitution, and the founding principals of the country are now labeled as domestic enemies. Because that is what they do. It's #12 of Alinsky's Rules for Radicals. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. You will be branded as the enemy. In the world of today, the patriot is the terrorist. That is how you will be presented.
If you still think that the gun control battle is going to be just a matter of voting on bills, think again. This is a war that is being fought in Congress, in the media, in the banks, and in the court of public opinion. Minds and money.
The best thing we can do is be debt free and be good representatives of our beliefs. Don't feed the demonization machine. Engage your representatives at all levels of government.

Bloomberg and Changing the Interpretation of the Constitution.
The internet is awash with conspiracy theories, talk of a false flag operations, and our diminishing rights as a result of the Boston Marathon bombing and subsequent manhunt. This is going to happen after any major attack or event. Internet sleuths will go into overdrive, picking at any little detail like an itchy scab. As they should; it provides a small level of oversight.
However, it does get out of control. With regards to the Marathon bombing, there are many talking about this being a false flag attack and muddying the waters of understanding. They claim that this attack was planned by our own government, in order to shift the paradigm and take more of our constitutional freedoms away. There were violations of peoples 4th amendment rights in this hunt, no doubt. But the false flag aspect is just unnecessary.
We live in a violent world in which people are going to do incredibly violent and horrific things to each other. The fed.gov does not need to plan false flag attacks on it's own people. All they have to do is sit back and wait. Just like with the second amendment issues. They have the bills written and tucked away into a desk drawer, just waiting for the next shooting to pull them out.
What happened in Watertown, Ma. was a clear violation of the rights of the people and their rights to privacy and security. Rights not granted by the U.S. Constitution, but natural rights that the Bill of Rights reemphasizes to the fed.gov. There is no gray area here. There were several clear 4th amendment violations when people were forced from their homes at gunpoint so that the police or military could search their homes.
These violations occurred during a time of crisis and panic. There was fear and desire to see justice done driving it. That is no excuse. The job must be done within the confines of the rights of the people. No gray area. No excuses.
Now, Mayor bloomberg is saying that the interpretation of the Constitution will have to change as a result of this attack. Why he is still in his office and not being tried in the public square is beyond me; but it's New York. They will sacrifice every ounce of liberty to their masters there. How's your salt bagel, Mr. Mayor? Just not for the masses, right? This power hungry tyrant doesn't even try to hide it. He will take every opportunity to grasp at power over the people. And he doesn't have to manufacture attacks, just wait for the next one. Bit by bit, taking liberty away. People like bloomberg will never stop and will never be satisfied, until they have total control over your lives. And he will tap dance on the graves of our fellow citizens to get it done. He, and those like him, are the most despicable sort of human our world has ever produced. And their brand of tyranny comes with a clear conscience, as they are "doing this for your own good."
Please do not fall for this infringement upon or freedom. Do not let tyrants get away with redefining your rights. Nature granted them and they cannot be taken away. Stick the the government that was created by the states, and not the one that would shackle you for your own safety. Let them know. At the local, county, state, and federal level; let them all know that your rights are not going to be trampled. No more votes. No more money for the campaign fund. No more cushy lifelong politicians. No more standing by and watching. Let them know that this will not be allowed. If we do allow interpretation of our natural rights to happen, we will never see them again. No one will ever see them again.

Gadsden Flag Ordered Removed From Military Armory
This is obvious ignorance shown by City Council. It is a disgusting reminder that we are being governed by idiot who do not know their own history. It is also a tactic used widely by the left. Change the meaning of something, demonize it, call it racist, and destroy it. These losers have no logical ground to stand on, so they label objects as being representative of hate.
It's too bad that it has come to this. Objects of the history of or country demonized to further the political agenda of cowards who would never have the courage to fight under that flag. Instead they disrespect it, and the people who died under it.

Soldier Arrested in Texas for Legal Firearm.
This is where we are now. You can't legally carry a firearm for fear of offending someone and being arrested. Accountability for the actions of the officers would be a start. Accountability for the inaction of the legal system would help as well. Read the article if you would like to stew in full on anger for a while.
